Privacy policy
CookKeep is a personal recipe box. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. In short: your recipes are private to your account, we don’t sell your data, and we don’t show ads or track you across other apps.
What we collect
Account details: your email address and the name you give us. If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple shares your email (or a private relay address) and, the first time only, your name.
Your content: recipes, categories, photos you add, and your shopping list.
Import sources you choose to send: YouTube links, photos of pages, files (PDF, Word, text) and, when you speak a recipe, the words your phone transcribes. Audio is converted to text on your device; we never receive or store recordings.
Settings: units, recipe language and app colour.
How we use it
To run your account and keep your recipe box in sync across your devices.
To write recipes from the sources you import. The content is sent to our AI provider only for that purpose.
To keep the service safe, for example limiting how many imports can be made each day.
Who processes your data
Supabase hosts our database, file storage and sign-in.
Anthropic provides the AI that turns imports into recipes. Under Anthropic’s commercial terms, content sent through its API is not used to train its models.
YouTube: when you import a video we fetch its public title, description and captions from YouTube.
Apple, if you choose Sign in with Apple.
How long we keep it
Your recipes and settings are kept until you delete them or delete your account.
Photos of pages and uploaded files are deleted as soon as your recipe has been written.
When you delete your account (Profile → Delete account) we delete your recipes, photos, categories, shopping list and sign-in straight away.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Every table is protected so that only your account can read or change your rows, and files are stored privately. On your phone your sign-in is kept in the system keychain.
Your rights
You can view, edit and delete your recipes at any time, and delete your whole account in the app. To ask a question or request a copy of your data, contact us at [email protected].
Children
CookKeep is not directed at children under 13 and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes we’ll update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
